New Member of the Cox Family

Meet "Tank" our new English Bulldog puppy. He is our third bulldog to have. He has some big shoes to fill in replacing Duke & Boz but I think he is up to the job.

Kade is back in action and hitting the Hardwood floors in basketball. His little brother Drew is trying out Little Dribblers himself for the first time. Macy is well just being Macy. Christie and I just celebrated our 16th year together.

Football Injury

Prayer Request for Kade.
Last night at the JV game Kade broke the "growth plate" in his right arm. He says all he remembers is hitting his arm on a helmet. At the hospital they sedated him and "set" his bone back in place. The doctor felt good about what they did, but there is a chance that he could have surgery. Keep Kade in your prayers. We go back on Wednesday to the Orthopedic doctor to find out for sure. Hopefully they will find everything doing great and put on a cast. We added a few pictures...

On to STATE!

Kade's team has made the State Tourney by placing second in the district tourney. Kade pitched a complete game to lead his team to victory. Now it's time to pack the boys for CDR!

Saturday, June 16, 2007

Well it has been a while since we have posted anything. Last night Kade pitched another gem of a game. He pitched a complete game and allowed no runs and struck out 7 while allowing only 3 hits and walking 1. Coaches from the other team complained over and over about him balking. It was quite comical. Finally the catcher and coach were thrown out of the game. Coach late came up and apologized and congratulated Kade for pitching a whale of a game.

Drew's regular season is over and he has made all-stars. He has developed into an awesome pitcher like his brother. Our little town has high expectations for his all-star team.

Macy lost her first tooth last week. Makes me a little sad. My kids are growing up so fast.

All of the kids are heading to CDR soon. Macy goes next week to day camp and the boys are signed up for 5th session.

Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Well it's been a few weeks since I posted anything about the kids. Kade has been dominating with his pitching and has found his stroke at the plate. His team is 4-0 and leads their league Kade was the winning pitcher on 2 of those wins. Drew has continued to impress with his pitching as well and looks to have his brother's knack for a mean circle change. We did lose to Mt. Pleasant yesterday but still ended up winning the consolation bracket of a tournament. Macy is still tumbling with the best of them.

Kade has started playing summer league basketball with the high school now that he will be a freshman this next year (makes me feel old).

Enough for now.

Well we finally got to have a tournament this weekend because of the weather. Our little team went 5-0 to claim the 2007 Hughes Springs Early Bird Invitational. We won with games of 11-2 over Hughes Springs Longhorns, 18-6 vs. Hughes Springs Astros, 7-6 Hughes Springs Mustangs, 8-4 Daingerfield White Sox, & 7-1 Championship win over Hughes Springs Mustangs again.

Drew "Dr. K" Cox pitched all 6 of his allowed innings and only gave up 1 hit and struck out 15 of the batters that he faced. On the third game we were behind 6-0 after the first inning and Drew came in and shut them down to allow us to scratch out a win. His Daddy was smiling from ear to ear.

Kade finally got to start his regular season today against the Dekalb Bears the toughest team in the district. The Longhorns quickly gave up 4 runs all do to 8 errors in the first 2 innings. Score was 4-0 up until the 4th inning when we finally had a run scored. Kade came in to start the fourth inning and didn't allow a run in three innings. Although the first batter about took him yard deep center. That was all he gave them. So now everyone knows who the Cox Brothers are. Great weekend for ball here.

Here are some pictures of Drew's tourney.

Week 3 of Baseball

Well finally got through with the infamous TAKS Testing week so ball should be in full swing from here on till summer. Kade's team had it schedule delayed a week so they played Mt. Pleasant in a non-conference game and won 10-0. Kade was the starting pitcher and went 3 innings striking out 3 and had a hand in all of the other 6 outs. He allowed only one hit. Later in the game he had an assist from the fence at the plate from the centerfield position.

Drewboy's team the "Water Mocassins" is on a roll. They are 4-0 on the year and have outscored their oppenents 60-10 with only one of those runs being earned. He was the winning pitcher on 3 of those games and plays a mean catcher when not. This week we play the better of the other two teams from our town so it should be interesting.

On Thursday I got to take Macy Lou to tumbling & cheer for the first time for me. I might be a little biased but I thought she was the best. She really liked the cheer routine best. Never thought I would be one into watching tumbling and cheer but it was really cool & cute at the same time.

Touney updates

Drew's tournament was cancelled because of rain Friday night but Kade's was still on. Kade started the first pitching with 3 up and 3 down with 2 strikeouts. Next inning the infamous strikeout get on first base error that seems to plague Kade. Catcher missed the third strike and just lobs it to first who boots it into the outfield which leads to unearned run #1. This was followed by 4 more infield errors that leads to a 4-0 lead for the visiting team. But Kade only allows one earned run and 2 hits. The Longhorns lose the first game 5-0 and have to turn around and play back to back. Their next game was against Lewisville, Ar. This time we were the visiting team and started things off with a bang. Tyler Hutchings was hit and stole 2nd base where he was knocked in by Justin Goforth's single. Kade followed with a walk. Next up was Tanner "T-Dub" Wright who sent a shot foul about 400'. Pitcher made and error and threw the same pitch and Tanner politely tee off on it over left center field's fence for a 3 run bomb. We went on to win 5-1. This time we drew the Texarkana, Ar Rangers. Kade was asked to start on the mound again. He pitched a beautiful complete 2 hit game allowing only 1 run over 5 innings with 8 K's. Unfortunately we could only muster a run ourselves. This put us into the international tie breaking rule which puts a runner on 3rd with one out and each batter has a strike and a ball. We go first and fail to get a run. Texarkana plated the winning run with 2 outs on a passed third strike to win the game. It was a very emotional loss. Kade pitched awesome, as I always know, for 7 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 13. I forgot to mention it was 45-47 degrees with the win blowing 15-20 mph all day. Lovely baseball weather. As for batting Kade went 0-2 walking 3 times, striking out once, lined out to center, and hit into a fielder's choice but scored 2 times.

Easter time means Baseball Time!

Cox clan had their annual Easter Egg Safari at my parents this past weekend. Hope you enjoy some of the pictures that Christie took.

Kade's team started off a little rough going 0-2 in their opening tourney but Kade pitched great. They played Mt. Pleasant on Thursday and won 18-4 with Kade walking 4 times. He pitched 2 innings and struck out 5 and started a double play. If your counting that is 7 outs. His first strike out got on base.

Drew started his year off tonight with a bang. He was the starting pitcher and pitched two complete innings striking out 5, hitting the lead off batter(good way to set the tone!), and assisting in the only ball put into play. At the bat he went 3 for 3 with a single, double, and inside the park home run. Shame they called the game early I had a cycle in my mind. He also caught the other two innings. I thought he had an awesome game but I'm a little biased. Omaha Water Moccasins 16 Omaha Yankees 0.

Both boys have a tournament this weekend with Kade's in Hope, Ar and Drewboy's in Hughes Springs.

Another update

Our little friend Kanyon is doing well so far. He is eating and digesting well. Hopefully he is going to be able to get off of the ventilator soon. His Mom got to hold him for the first time yesterday and I think that is way cool. Please continue to pray for the whole team including Parents, Kanyon, family, Dr's, & Nurses.
